The Impact We Have On Others

Postby Bill Hudson » Fri Feb 24, 2017 1:06 pm

Folks,

I'm not sharing this for a round of "Atta Boys," I'm sharing it to show the impact we have on others, often we don't even know the extent of the impact.

A neighbor couple are in their early eighties and are a marvel of determination and independence. He is totally blind and she is physically limited by a heart condition. Thus they are limited in some of the outside activities necessary to maintain their home.

I have, for several years, plowed their snow (quality seat time at its best) and within the last 3 or 4 years mowed their lawn. I stopped for a visit today and as we were setting on the patio he made a statement that blew me away. "If it weren't for you mowing the grass and plowing the snow, we would be living in a condominium." My response was (in addition to Thank you), "You would be like a caged animal, if you lived in a condo." He said the he would.

I know that, with this group, I'm preaching to the choir. However, keep helping folks out because you are making differences in peoples' lives.

No Atta boys, please.

Bill

Bill, I know you well enough that you never ask for thanks for all the kindness you show to others. However, I will thank you for posting this to remind us our kindness to others shows whether we are watching or not.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

OK, no "attaboys".
But I will say this - I am grateful to know you, Bill, and grateful for all you do for others.
