Another Loss

Postby Stanton » Mon Jul 06, 2015 6:24 am

As some of you know, I lost my dad to cancer last December. Last Thursday, my brother passed due to cancer (56 yrs old). He had been fighting it for 20 months via Cancer Treatment Centers - Tulsa. Left behind a wife and four boys. My mom currently resides in a memory care facility.

I say this not to illicit sympathy, but to let it serve as a warning: life can change very quickly in less than a year's time. So, I encourage you as the Scripture exhorts, "Redeem the time." I hope each of you made the most of this July 4th weekend with your families.

For all of you who are going through a fight with cancer or have a loved one who is, may you find hope, strength and rest in Christ alone.

Peace to you all.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my Mom to cancer and we had three good years when I visited every single day. When it came back, it was swift. I think living each day like it could be your, or someone else's, last is good advice. Our time here is short.

Stanton:

My sincerest condolences on the loss of your brother. Losing a parent and a sibling is a very heavy cross to bear .. I know ... truly I do.

You are in our prayers (+) and we ask the Lord to give you strenght of faith and all that you need to continue down this path of grief.

I do know exactly how you feel .. It has been a long time - 19 years since my Dad passed but I miss him greatly every day ..

On the 14th though I lost my sister Marlene to lung cancer after a 3 year battle with the disease - non-operable. She had a lot of courage to fight .. and has given me a new respect for those who choose to fight for family and for life and to allow the Lord to determine when and where...

So ... our sincerest condolences brother .. may you always keep your faith strong and may He constantly invigorate you (+) Peace
