Prayers Would Be a Big Help
As some may know the last couple years have been kinda rough for us .. Em, the kids and I along with my Mom and siblings. Everything from Colon Cancer (my Mom and my twin), spinal surgeries (my sis Marlene who lives in Greece), Ron with cardiac issues and my other two siblings having their own fair share..... Can't forget of course my father-in-law with Alzheimer's and a cardiac condition, my mother-in-law has a heart condition and is Dad's primary care giver. Sammy has RSD/CRPS and is still in hospital and has actually retrogressed since she came back from Stan Cassidy. She is in her tenth month in hospital and it looks like not much will change over the next 2 or 3 months either. Then there was the strokes and TIA's that cost me my vision and the surgeries around all that. Amanda has some issues as well that we have been dealing with and of course Abbigail's difficulties she has had since birth. We thought we had pretty well run the gamut and there really wasn't any more that could happen or so we hoped.
Yeah right.
Em has been battling shingles for the last 10 days or so, my docs are worried that I will get it and with my immune system that would be bad. So far so good, so again we thought that everything was under control. Thursday morning Amanda was taken by ambulance to hospital. She had collapsed a couple times in a neighbours apartment for no obvious reason. They gave her a Cat Scan and then scheduled an MRI Friday morning. Shortly after the MRI (the doctors were NOT happy with the MRI results) she had a spinal tap. That was when we got another phone call............. Looks like she most likely has MS.
Right out of the blue ........ So she is in hospital for probably the next 2 weeks - a 6 day course of IV meds, redo another MRI and most likely another 6 day run. Then maybe she might be able to go home. Until then we have Abby. Interesting to say the least. Add to all of this, our little bathroom leaky pipe problem has morphed from a minor fix into an almost complete replacement of all our copper as well as renovating the upstairs bathroom almost completely. Downstairs needs work as well, but it will have to wait a bit. Too many irons in the fire.
I know that the Lord doesn't give us more than we can handle ... but sometimes I wonder how broad our shoulders are perceived to be ... our faith is strong and I know what ever is going on has some rhyme and reason to it, I just don't know what it is. So a prayer or two sure would be appreciated. Peace to you all.

Re: Prayers Would Be a Big Help
Rudi, prayers have been sent from Michigan. Your steadfast faith in the face of the difficulties that you and your family face is an inspiration to me and others, I'm sure. This year has been a real trying time indeed for your family. I will continue to keep you in my prayers and hope to hear better news soon.

Re: Prayers Would Be a Big Help
Rudi,
We will remember to pray for you and your family that God's will be done, and that he will give
understanding through this. The Psalm says Yea, Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For thou art with me, Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. He is still on the throne.
Paul

Re: Prayers Would Be a Big Help
Guys, thanks for the prayers, it does help you know, really does. This family of ours is really special and is really supportive and that is really beneficial.
Psalm 23, probably one of my favourite psalms of all. My Dad recited that psalm when he woke up after he was electrocuted, that psalm was the last prayer that he and I shared before he went to be with the Lord, it was the last thing in my head when I went through most of my operations. It is true.. He is my Shepherd and I shall Not want, for he is with me forever.

Re: Prayers Would Be a Big Help
He has been my shepherd since Feb 15,1976. Thats when the blessed Holy Spirit touched my heart and rolled the stone away. I didn't deserve it but I am so glad he did.
