Just a note to thank the Vets and remember those who gave their last full measure so we can enjoy this great country of ours. John

Remembrance Day Parade today was moving as always. Brought back memories of chums no longer with us, family members who did not come home and my twin still in Khandahar.

WE had an exceptionally good turn out and all around good time at our local VA Hospital. The Grand Marshall's for this years Parade were the Veterans of the Vietnam War.We were fortunate to have acquired one of the Vietnam Vets travelling wall's which was kept open for 24 hour round the clock for about a week, I personally witnessed some healing going on, as to why they call it the wall that heals was very apparent. We Packed it in this morning and even up to the point that the driver was doing his last checks for the road, people showed up wanting to have a glimpse. It was very rewarding to have had a part in the whole affair, as a Veteran of that time and as one who's heart goes out to all who have a relative inscribed on that wall.

At Rotary last Tuesday, we had about 20 WWII and Korean War vets that had been flown to Washington, DC to see the memorials there. This is the 6th "Honor Flight" from Colorado and about 1200 Vets have gotten to go. Those in attendance were all in their late 80's to late 90's and each gave a short description of their service. Very sobering, and unfortunately it will not be too long until they are all gone.
