Heart attack

Postby Garvin Gatewood » Thu Jan 19, 2012 8:40 pm

I am going to have to delay fixing up my '57. I had a heart attack on Sunday night. I had a heart cath on Tuesday and had 95% blockage in one of the main arteries in the front of the heart. They put in a stent and it is working at 100% now. I am now on medicine and will have to exercise more and eat a whole lot better. I am going to have to get some strength back so I can get back to work on my Cubs.
Eight Cubs-finally got a '57.

Garvin - listen to the docs and do what they tell you! Those cubs will be there when you are ready and able to work on them.

I agree with Bigdog. Get all the rest they say you need. Once you have your health back you can get that 57 to where you want it.

Good luck, We're all pullin' for you!
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Garvin:

Sorry to hear about your heart attack... serious stuff. That is great news the stent has restored 100% flow to the artery. Looking forward to playing with your Cub is real good therapy .. need a goal as you recuperate. Do what the Docs say .. and you will be back on your feet feeling great real soon. We shall keep you in our prayers (+)

Glad you are recovering. Pay attention to the Dr.s and the boss lady. Working on the cub in moderation is good therapy.

Hey Garvin...That's a heck of a wake-up call my friend  I failed a stress test this past August and they put in a stent in my right artery to clear a 70% blockage...so I know a little of what you're going through  The diet & exercise will work its magic as long as you keep with it. Glad to hear you're feeling better Garvin  ...'Country'

Garvin, hate to hear the clogged issue happened, but glad to hear the stent worked. Follow that diet and stay on it - if you venture from it only 1 day a week and back on it. It is important what we eat. Oh, that exercise regiment- don't over do it. When doc says start by walking a mile -- don't do two or three miles just because you can. Work back into it a little ad it'll be behind you before spring and mowing and planting time.
I know Theresa will be there watching you as well, maybe she would enjoy doing a little work on that 57, but like everyone says, it will wait along with all the other cubs and equipment, the 57 will have lots of good company.
And another thing to fell blessed about - You sure have a beautiful place to walk.
Take care of your self now!! Theresa, try to get him to take it easy! Everything don't have to be accomplished in a day.
