Prayer Request

Postby Roger G. » Fri Jan 07, 2011 9:10 am

Subject: Prayer request....
We are asking everyone to say a prayer for "Darkhorse" 3rd Battalion 5th Marines and their families. They are fighting it out in Afghanistan & they have lost 9 marines in 4 days. IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE the message spread if more could pass it on.

God Bless America and God Bless the United States Marine Corps... Semper Fi, Often Tested, Always Faithful, Brothers Forever

Lindsay Lohan, 24, gets her name and face all over the news because she went to jail. Now she's getting it all over again for failing her drug test.

But: Nothing in the media about these guys because no one seems to care:

Justin Allen, 23,
Brett Linley, 29,
Matthew Weikert, 29,
Justus Bartett, 27,
Dave Santos, 21,
Chase Stanley, 21,
Jesse Reed, 26,
Matthew Johnson, 21,
Zachary Fisher, 24,
Brandon King, 23,
Christopher Goeke, 23,
Sheldon Tate, 27,

All are Marines that gave their lives for YOU this week!

Viewers attract commercials, which make money, for the tv, and newspapers. 24 year old "famous people", attract more viewers, than dead Marines do. Just a very unfortunate fact of life. Ed

I'm with you. My son did two tours in Iraq, one with the 1st Infantry Division, Task Force 2-2, and fought in Fallujah. These guys should never be forgotten, and the agony their families endure is almost unbearable. Salute.

Semper Fi, May they find the strength and the lord watch over them. On the other thing it is a perversion of values.

This has gotten huge coverage, it's been all over the web for the past 2 months...my boss did 2 tours as a 50 caliber deck gunner over there on the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers with the Coast Guard. We thought about him daily. I hate to say it but he is really different and angry since his return. Am sorry for their families and friends...

I have seen this email before and I'm sure it will make the rounds again and again AS IT SHOULD! There are a couple inaccurate things that keep getting repeated however. First Justin Bartett is actually Staff Sgt Justin S. Bartelt, obviously a typo. Not all are marines. One is British. None of this dimishes their sacrifice for us, I just think we owe it to them to get it right. They all gave their lives for us in mid July 2010.

A good website I found that sets the record straight.

As a former Combat Veteran, my prayers have always been with our Troops in harms way.
It is sad when young troops have given their all, we should be very thankful.
