Small World at Cub-Arama

Postby VinceD » Mon Oct 04, 2010 8:39 pm

Annie and I were eating breakfast at the motel in Farmington before heading down the road to Cub-Arama. We struck up a conversation with the gentleman at the next table who was also going to Cub-Arama. It was Arizona Mike. During the conversation we learned he and Annie grew up in the same town (Belleville, IL), attended rival schools and graduated a year apart. They even had some common friends.

Talk about a small world. :D :D

Vince:

You two must have gotten along famously.. :D Mike is a real gentleman and I am looking forward to meeting him in person as well whenever we can get close enough to finally meet you and Annie. It is kinda enjoyable when two strangers can strike a conversation in a restaurant and actually find out that they have common interests and even better similar history. It is really neat when two Cubbers who have never met in person do in a situation like that :!: Really really 8)

Makes ya think huh. When I was hauling boats out of MD I pulled into a truck stop in Fontana CA and parked right next to my neighbor that I hadn't seen in over a month. Left there and went to Pipestone MN and ate supper with a guy I went to high school with and haven't seen since 1966. Small world at times. I'm the guy that can't find his wife in a grocery store!! :applause: Good way of wording that. I can usually find my wife about 60 seconds after I start talking to an attractive cashier! Funny how that works. The bigger the upper portions of her body are usually gets her there faster :P :P
