Home at Last

Postby Pony Master » Mon Aug 16, 2010 9:19 pm

I want to thank all of you for the well wishes and prayers along the way. We finally got home about 11 this morning. They released Saturday, but asked that we come back for a blood test on Sunday morning. We left after getting the blood draw, but did not make it far. Before I could get out of town I had the Dr. on the phone telling me the nursery was awaiting our return to the hospital. Samantha had a highly elevated billirubin level and it was well beyond the level here we could provide care at home. We spent all day yesterday and all night last night in a hospital room with Sammy under an extremely bright blue light. She tolerated it well at first, but not so well overnight. It was a rough night, but they let us leave again this morning around 10. I have never been so happy to be home.
