Thoughts and prayers for my neighbor.

Postby Bigdog » Mon Aug 02, 2010 9:03 am

Many of you who were here for the tug may remember my neighbor across the street. He was the flag man for the tug and is the town mayor. His wife was over here with him every day during the week-end.
Lou (his wife) has been battling cancer for a couple of years now and yesterday (Sunday) afternoon she passed from this world. Lou was prepared for this and I am glad she was able to follow her wishes and pass quietly at home surrounded by her family.
If you all would, please remember Dick. No matter how much we prepare ourselves, support from our friends and neighbors is always needed. I am sure he can use your support through your thoughts and prayers.

I talked to Dick several times over the Tug weekend and you would not have been able to tell he was going through this pain with his wife. It is amazing how a person can prepare themselves for such a situation. It takes a mighty inner strength to do that.

Please offer my condolences to him. Rosie and I will keep him in our prayers.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I have talked with him at every Tug I have been to. The first year he took me over to his place, showed me all of his cadets and parts as well as some of his other toys floating around there. He has always been such a nice guy. I really hate to hear the bad news, but am glad she was able to do it her way. He and his family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Please pass on our condolences as well.
