Some very good friends of Rosie and me just lost their son-in-law to the war in Afghanistan. Mike and Mary raised a daughter who would make any parent proud. Michelle and PFC Russell Madden have a four year old son who suffers from cystic fibrosis. Russell died serving his country Wednesday morning in an attack on a convoy he was in.
Mike, Mary and Michelle are always happy and smiling and it is hard to imagine them having to deal with this tragedy. But, I do know they are strong people who will handle their grief in the best way possible. I am sure they will see to it the baby gets the best care possible, although it will be a struggle for them. A prayer or two wouldn’t hurt and would be appreciated.
