Loss of a Community Icon In Haiti Earthquake

Postby Rudi » Fri Jan 15, 2010 5:01 pm

Prayers for Mark's widow Lisa and their two children would be appreciated. They were members of our community for many years and none of us were not touched by this man and his family. Mark was instrumental in raising funds for organizations I worked with, and he had the biggest heart in town.

RCMP Sgt Mark Gallagher formerly of the Codiac RCMP (became RCMP after MPF was folded into the national force along with the DPF/FPD) and a Moncton native son.. has been lost in the earthquake in Haiti. He was found late last night in his apartment in Port au Prince. He was in Haiti as part of the RCMP contingent serving with the United Nations Peace Keeping Force in Haiti.

Just a reminder that this disaster will probably have personal repercussions all over the world as Haiti is a very needy country .. the poorest in the America's which needs the help of the whole world. Our prayers also are needed along with all the treasures that the Lord blesses us with that we can share with our brothers and sisters in Haiti.

Rest in Peace (+)

Unfortunately, I fear we may lose many who are dear to a many of us around North America in this tragedy. Peace to all those who have family and friends in Haiti.
