Mike the temp heat though expensive may find the insurance co as a co pay. It is to prevent further damage just as a board up is after a fire. Yep you may have a partner paying for the temp heat.

Re: Minor disaster in the WisconsinCubMan Household
Well... here is an update... it is nearly 2 months down the road, and the old iron is out of my house now. The old busted radiators went to the scrap yard today by way of my plumbing/heating contractor. The new/used replacement radiators are to arrive on the dock at work today and the plumber will be over to pick them up. I am hopeful that we will finally have heat in the house by way of the furnace by Thursday or Friday. I will be glad to retire the space heaters from the house and get back to SOMEWHAT normal again with actual heat in the house.
For those that are wondering, we have been heating our 1400 square foot house, built in 1895 with 1500 watt space heaters (6 of them). During some of the cold nights in January, the house went down to about 59 degrees at night, but most days the heaters kept it a nice even 65 - 67 degrees. My family will long remember the winter of 2009/2010! This builds character for sure!
