Just a Few Observations at Christmas

Postby ricky racer » Thu Dec 24, 2009 10:03 pm

I just returned from our Christmas Eve Choir program at church and while I was there listening to the Christmas story in music, I couldn't help but think of how blessed I am. Not only do I serve a God that has always been so good to me, but I am a member of a church that is like a family to me. How great is that? Sitting in the pew watching the program I could see my beautiful wife and daughter singing their hearts out. The thought came to my mind that my wife lets me do the things that I like to do, hunt, ride motorcycles and play with old tractors and still loves me even after 23 years. My daughter is a straight A student in 8th grade, loves music and plays the piano and flute. She likes to go hunting with me and loves camping out at archery shoots with me plus she likes to drive my Cubs. I have a job and have not been laid-off since the 1980's. I have a small farm that is paid off and family that lives close by. Ya know, it just don't get any better that that!
On top of all that, I have friends here on this site that make me feel like family. You all are always ready to offer encouragement and help me find answers to any question that I pose. I want to thank each and every one of you for allowing me a place to escape to after work and for taking me in like family.

Merry Christmas to all of you and your family.

What a wonderful world it would be if more of us could see ourselves, our family and others through eyes like that. :||): :||):

Merry Christmas. :D :D
