A Milestone Passed

Postby Rick Spivey » Sat Dec 16, 2017 6:19 pm

Friday was my last day at work, I'm vacationing until 31 December, at which time I will be retired. 37+ years with Michelin tire, during which time I got to travel to many of their factories in various countries. I had a very fun and rewarding career, but now the wife and I have other things we want to do. Most important right now is remodeling the family farm house, as we plan to spend part of our retirement in it. The other part is a lake property we share with one of her sisters; that will be a summer home. Between times in those properties, we will spend some time at the beach, as well. Hopefully I can make a few more cubfests than recent years have allowed!

Congrats on the big occasion! I’m sure you will enjoy the free time
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Congrats on the retirement. Just don't think that you'll have more time to do stuff. :D

I hope you enjoy your retirement as much as I have mine. I had to retire early because of my health, but even so I have enjoyed every minute of it. 14 years and counting.

Congrat. on the retirement, Rick and welcome to the club! I had all these notions about how I would spend retirement but in the end, I just play it day by day. Enjoy yours as well!
