Looking good Shane!

Good morning friends!

Some of you know this and some of you don’t, my name is Shane and I’m an alcoholic.

I watched my dad drink for many years and I turned into him at 20 years old drinking every chance I got. I didn’t drink to drink, I drank to get drunk. If I had a 12 pack, a case, or a bottle I thought I had to drink it all and I did.

My wife and I lost our first child to a miscarriage, I was drunk the night it happened. When my wife got pregnant with our son I told her if he grows up to be an alcoholic he wasn’t learning it from his dad like I did from mine.

Today is 10 years of sobriety for me. Not one beer, nothing. I don’t have a problem with people drinking, I have a problem with me drinking. I don’t blame anyone for my drinking, I put every drink in my mouth. I can’t drink or I’ll get drunk so I choose not to.

My name is Shane and I’m a sober alcoholic. Stay safe my friends.

Not only a fighter, but a courageous man, husband, and father. May you continue to walk with the Lord and He abide and strengthen you today, and in the days ahead. Continue to be an overcomer.

Blessings to you, Shane!

Congratulations on your 10 years, Shane! It's a good time to reflect on all the amazing things you've done that you wouldn't have accomplished otherwise. That alone should be great motivation to stay-the-course. I hope you and your family are gearing up for the happiest of holidays!
