Rudi has posted a couple of times since the accident. He seems to be doing well considering the circumstances.

Hi guys:

Sorry for not being around. Don't get downstairs too much yet, still way to difficult to navigate those steps. Been seeing the doc and doing my other medical appointments, so by the time I get home, all I have the energy to do is lie down in my elevating easy chair.... 8) :D

Will be around more as the leg gets better.

Darn, I really got to watch out for flying posts with cement hanging on em... ouch... that smarts

Rudi,
Stay off those stairs! What you need is a laptop and a wireless system installed, then you can stay off those stairs except to go to the Doc!

Take care

knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Guys:

Yup, I agree, casts and stairs don't mix. Buuuut....

I already got a WAP (Wireless Access Point), but I guess it didn't work so we will have to wait. It is ticking my daughter off cause she can't access the house net with her laptop.... ?? why I don't know.. but... she wants to be able to move around with it, so Cat 5 is a no option.

As for a laptop for me and Em, well wish I could afford it, but it will have to wait a bit... need a few other items first... but ahhh do have me ear to the ground so to speak on that front.

Hopefully tonight, I will be able to stay downstairs for a bit and get some serious reading done. Might even try to jump into flashchat for a few minutes ifn I can....

I am really looking forward to getting mobile again. Man, this past year, all I seem to do is sit on my posterior or lie down in bed... sheeeesh as Fred would say :!:

Rudi, you could go to your local computer seller and see if they have any broken laptops, my brother got one for 200$ and then sent it to the company and got it fixed under warranty, works great now and didn't have to pay anything but shipping and handling. Just an idea, Jostev

Jostev:

Ooohhh, that is tricky :!: :D

We have our ears to the ground. I build a lot of puters... it is my other hobby. I actually have 5 or 6 laptops, but they are all older -- 486's and 386's as well as a 286 and an old 8088 series from Bondwell. Yup, collecting them too, or is it them collecting dust :?:

I will find one eventually, it just isn't all that high on my list of priorities. Aside from getting my Cubs done, I absolutely have to fix my shop and build a covered extension to house my Cubs and implements from the rain and snow... got to keep the evil Rust demon in check...., and we have stuff in the house that needs to be done as well. Just itching to get back into my shop and get some sawdust churning as well as hearning the sharp snick of a well edged chisel cutting dovetails.. I have 4 hope chests, a sea chest and a couple of new old style tool chests I want to build as well as a number of pieces of furniture for the house...

All a matter of priorities though...

gee, it is nice to be able to play on the puter for a while though :!:

Yeah, that sounds familiar, my parents only got my brother the laptop because he was going to college. my turn if a few years, and I also need to do stuff around the house, the cub and farmalls defininetly come first.
