The annual Owensville Threshers Show in Rosebud, Missouri, is this weekend, starting Friday July 14 and running through Sunday, July 16.

Very good machinery show and demonstrations, if you can make a day trip out of it.

Two entrances, visitors and exhibitors. Throw an antique machine in the pickup bed. Use the exhibitors entrance and get in for half price.

I have been to the show a few times, but didn't know there was an entrance for exhibitors and visitors. Which is which?

The visitors entrance is/was on the west side of the grounds, off hwy 50. Exhibitors entrance on the east side of the grounds off hwy 50. Been a couple of years since I was last there, things may have changed.

It's ironic since I always went into the west side entrance. A couple of times I had to pay, once with a couple of tractors, and once without any. A third time I had a couple of tractors and I used the west side and I didn't have to pay. Maybe it's who is guarding that entrance, don't know. But I didn't realize there was an entrance for exhibitors only.

Don't believe I've ever paid to enter a show around here if I was bringing a tractor. Seems a bit tight-fisted to have to pay anything if you're part of the show.

Normally it's about a 35 minute drive from Linn, Mo. to the Rosebud grounds. Osage county fair (Linn) is held on the same days, making for considerable traffic congestion.

I have to pass the Osage County fair grounds to get to the acreage. Getting to the acreage is normally not a problem. Getting back on to Hwy 50 from the acreage can be a real problem due to the traffic. So, I stay home and tend to the gardens and other chores.
