Barnyard 10 - Pigeons 0 ►UPDATE - Now 20 - 0◄
Sat out in the barn with Miss Rosie for about an hour after dark tonight. We kept our hands to ourselves...well actually she kept her hands on the flashlight and I kept my hands on the rifle. A few less bird droppings will be found from now on. If you happened to take a walk in BOB while at the Bash, you know what I mean.

Place one or two fake owls in the barn.
Wife and I use them to keep birds off the porch and pooping on outdoor furniture.

22 bird shot. I actually missed two shots, but none of the birds have gotten me yet. I had to pick up more ammo today.

Bob. 22 bird shot is hard to find around here. I only had a dozen shells left and couldn't find any. Today I did a little calling around and found a little shop that had two boxes in stock.

Re: Barnyard 10 - Pigeons 0
I only occasionally have bird problems in my shed, but also use .22 bird shot when needed. It does not have enough mass to do damage to roof, etc. though it might break a light bulb if not careful. A 6 1/2 inch barrel revolver also works well with the bird shot.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Re: Barnyard 10 - Pigeons 0 ►UPDATE - Now 20 - 0◄
I got more shells today and went to work on the stinkin' things. I missed with one shot but later had two sitting side-by-side. They went down together. When I started yesterday you could see the flock move as a group to a new location with each shot. As more fell there were less moving. After number ten tonight there was not one bird moving. Either they went into hiding or they have all been removed. I am thinking the latter.

Barnyard I assume you have better neighbors than I one who lives about a 1/4 mile from me calls the sheriff when I shoot Mama Viv likes to sit in the sun room and watch the tweety birds she has numerous bird feeders but she don't want blackbirds eating the food so I sit in my shop with the garage door open I shoot the blackbirds with a 22 and my #&%hole neighbor calls the sheriff they have tried explaining to him that I am doing nothing wrong I don't shoot in the trees I wait for them to get on the ground so me being the friendly neighbor that I am I get out the 300 Ultra Mag the 7MM ultra Mag the 220Swift and make sure the scopes are sighted in correctly.

All my shooting is inside the barn. There is a pop but not as much of one as when my neighbor is out unloading with his 357 and 9 mm in the open in his yard. We just can't shoot in the city limits.

Re: Barnyard 10 - Pigeons 0 ►UPDATE - Now 20 - 0◄
we had a pigeon trap and a slightly larger "baptismal" that the trap fit in, at LSU . the pigeons did thousands of dollars each year in damage to the electric lights and conduit in tiger stadium . over my 10 years of service , the trap was never empty...... good luck barnyard , at best you will end up in a draw ...........but , better than paper targets.........the only animal that did more damage than the pigeons, was the squirrels. tens of thounds of dollars worth. we had a dedicated animal control employee, who had to have help from contractors ...coppersmythe............................PS: the "code" words used over the motorola radio were very inventive!
