Honest Rural Folks

Postby Eugene » Thu Feb 02, 2017 10:57 am

Gotta love living in a rural area. Most folks are honest to a fault.

Yesterday, wife and I were walking our 1/2 mile on the local tech school indoor track. Along the east wall of the track is 4 windows with wide sills. Folks place their belonging on the sills while using the track.

Around 10:30 AM a woman went to one of the window sills and picked up a wallet and an I-Pad. Talking to the woman, she said that she had used the track at 6:30 AM. Left, forgetting the wallet and I-Pad. Unattended for 4 hours, everything was still in place, nothing missing from the wallet.
I have an excuse. CRS.

I consider where we live rural. We had 2 people try to steal beer in our store last week and someone gave us a fake $20 bill that the bank found when I tried to deposit it. Different areas I reckon.

Were they locals?
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

The ones trying to steal were, not sure where the fake $20 came from but we have a pretty good idea. My wife reached in one of ems pocket and pulled a beer out while holding our 15 month old daughter on her hip needless to say he didn't hang around, the other one she put one in her pocket and my wife went and confronted her and she said she was only putting it there cause her hands were full, she came up to the counter to pay and only had a dollar and some change. The beer in her pocket was $1.99 plus tax, not including the other beer in her hand and the canned soda. Wife told her never to step foot back in there and the other guy too. I guess they forgot about all the cameras in the store and the ones pointed at the cooler just for this reason. Most of the time she has her pistol on her side, that day she didn't.
