Playing with "Big Boy" toys..

Postby sdurnal » Sat Mar 12, 2016 8:31 pm

They sent me to GA this week, made me stay in a nice hotel, forced me to eat Paula Deen's cooking, and play in the dirt with really big toys... I feel so abused... hehe

I assume you work for Cummins.

Actually, no. Kinda funny that I can see a Cummins factory from my back porch, but there has never been a Cummins in our equipment. It seems everything but.. Mostly Mercedes (MTU) and MAN. The combines are mostly Cat, but the MTU is turning a lot of heads.. (Cat dealers and otherwise)

Looks like that would be a fun day. Is Claas bringing some High HP Tractors to the US market.

Yes, We've had them in the market in Europe for quite a while. This, for me, was more of a familiarity exercise. These are in the 500HP range.

I don't see many Claas in my area but a friend has a dairy and milks around 1200 cows three times a day a few years back they bought a silage chopper made by Claas it has two engines I think one is 400HP the other 600HP they fill a truck in less than three minutes when they first starting using it people were lined along the side of the road amazed at how fast it worked.

If you want to put a lot of hay/haylage in a hurry, try this puppy. Claas Cougar 1400 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDFPhJnslzQ

Yes those are some of our offspring... hehe The twin engine 900 Jag is now replaced by one honking huge MAN V-12 Diesel. 900HP with room to grow.. I love to hear it "talk"!
