Propane prices

Postby Dennis » Thu Oct 01, 2015 11:13 am

Just ordered my winter tank refill and was pleasantly surprised at the price; $1.10 per gallon. The clerk said it's the lowest prices they have seen since 2004.

I hope everyone else is seeing low prices too.

That's a good price  :!: Customers that deal with the LP gas company I use can pay to lock the price at $1.79. You are guaranteed not to pay more than that if prices go up. I wonder if prices here fall to $1.10/gal if we still pay $1.79/gal :?:

That is a FANTAXTIC price. We just paid $2.54 per gallon for our fill-up and the AMERIGAS folks said that was a bargain! Lot better than the $5.94 per gallon we had to pay to get a partial during the heating season!!

I have burnt wood before this year. My health has changed things so I put central heat in. They told me a 250 gal. tank would be 39 dollars a year rent,a 500 gal. tank would be 49 dollars a year. I went with the larger tank. They ran me 50 foot of poly pipe hooked it up no charge. The best part filled the tank for 99 cents a gallon. I still have my wood heater so if it gets to cold we can buy some wood.

Not to gloat, but we filled our LP tank about a month ago. We paid $0.88 per gallon. They said it hadn't been that low in many years. I had looked for another tank to keep some extra on hand.....

Son stopped by today. Said his propane fill cost him $1.04 a gallon.

Been a moderate winter so far. Son normally uses 3 or 4 cords of wood per winter. So far he has used less than 1/2 cord.

Son could have used more wood but works 10 or 12 hour days 6 or 7 days a week. Instead of tending the wood furnace, he heats the house with the cheap propane.
I have an excuse. CRS.

I am total electric, but I was curious about the prices here since we produce lots of gas in Louisiana. Price is 1.91 a gallon.

$2.289 seems to be the norm here at this time. I found online that the wholesale is about $0.40 per gallon at this time. The $1.889 spread on my 200 gallon delivery is $377.80. That should cover their delivery expenses completely. Why do I have an aching feeling lower down?
