Visit with Donegal Cub/ Ireland with pic

Postby Bezirk » Tue May 26, 2015 8:23 pm

In April Paula and I visited Ireland and did a circle tour starting and ending in Dublin. Bernard ( Donegal Cub )and I had prearranged to meet at Donegal castle, we had a great visit while Paula went shopping. Here is a pic of three of us, I am the touristy looking one on the right. I am hoping Bernard can come to a Fest in the USA, he is a delightful gentleman. Image

Yes Bill we did, Ireland is very nice friendly people, good food a few pubs for one to have a brew ( make that quite a few) and the tour was well planned and executed. We were very fortunate with weather also.

Irish Mini Fest, now that's neat!

Were you able to fix the Cub at Donegal castle?

Glad you had a good time, thanks for sharing,

No we did not repair a Cub , but did shoot some bull , I suppose that is farm related. We had a very pleasant visit And it was too short would like to have visited his home but traveling by bus did not allow. There are sheep everywhere in Ireland, their number two source of income is tourist and they love Americans ( that is different) , we couldn't have been treated nicer and felt more at ease than with the folks in Ireland. Contrast the smiling face in Ireland to the no smiles from anyone we experienced two years ago in Russia.

Nice to meet Berlin and his beautiful Paula, a great couple. They were blessed with good weather for the tour, & they gave me a lovely miniature Farmall Cub as a gift, which was very gracious of them. Yes if I am spared I will definitely visit the USA again, and this time get to a cubfest, maybe Boss Hogg's.
Regards,
Bernard,
Donegal Cub.

All, I just came back from Ireland this week on Monday. Spent a few days with Bernard and the lovely Sarah. Bernard allowed me to take Ardee for a little seat time in the neighborhood. His cub is a show Cub. Very nice, and I felt right at home driving on the Irish side of the road and shifting gears with the left hand.
It is my honor to call Bernard my friend.
We are located in southwest Virginia, and will have Bernard at Boss Hoggs soon.
As for the Irish, they are a wonderful lot.
Thanks
Richard

Surely looks like a great visit! Berlin and Paula are great American ambassadors.

Sure would be great to get Bernard on one of the Boss' Civil War 'tours'. Hopefully we can get Mr Bennett to explain the 'apple tree' at Appomattox to him??

I have invited Mr Donegal Cub ( Bernard ) to fly into Washing Dulles and I will pick him up there and handle all of the arrangements for a fun filled visit to the Waller and any where else he chooses to visit. Lodging cost will be 0 so it would be a very inexpensive vacation.
Here is hoping we can pull this visit off next spring, Bernard is a fine Irish gentleman and I know all of you would enjoy learning to know him in person just as I did.

Bernard, You better be careful or you'll need to open a B&B to house all the American visitors who will want to stop by for a visit (Irish ancestry or not!). :D
