March 9th and there's still thick ice!

Postby Peter Person » Sun Mar 09, 2014 3:27 pm

Took a walk with Emily & Hannah this afternoon on the lake.
We've been here 18 years and I can't remember having good thick ice this late in the season.
Stopped and chatted with a couple of fisherman. 8-10 inches of clear ice with a couple of inches of frozen slush. The only open water is near one or two cottages where they have a bubbler to keep the water open for the ducks.

Fresh air felt good.
