Use Your Imagination

For years I have had a small home hobby business making a broadhead sharpener aimed at traditional bowhunters that choose to shoot 2 blade broadheads. Part of it's manufacturing process involves cutting a 6" Mill Bastard file down to a shorter length. I use part of the file and the other end, the end with the tang, gets thrown away. Every time I throw those file remains away I keep thinking, "there's got to be something that these can be used for", but in the end, they get pitched. Over the years I've thrown thousands of these away.

Anyway, can any of you guys come up with something that these can be used for? Or, if you have a use for these, let me know.Image

Rick:

Long files are not necessarily a good thing in some operations. Say with flattening a manifold flange. These could certainly be used for that. Short strokes are a must without tipping the file either way - a shorty lends iself to that easily.

I like those short files. They could be used nicely for putting a good flat on a scraper before burnishing, sharpening some types of knives, or other specialty tools like maybe spur bits.

I hope you did recycle them that got chucked yes?????
