i don't have one myself, but I have several friends with the Hardy units that really like them. In addition to the heat they can be set up to provide the hot water. 2 shortcomings I have heard about them is they take about 3 times as much wood as a wood stove inside the house, though they do provide more even heat, plus the hot water, and the liquid they circulate is water, so if you are gone for an extended period in cold weather they will freeze up inside the heater unless someone fires it for you.

You can use antifreeze in it if freezeup is a problem. In the house I am building in the country I have a Thermo Control wood burning stove. It heats water that I circulate through radiators and copper base board. I have the system filled with 50 50 water and anitfreeze. Its been that way through a number of winters and no problem. The outside wood furnaces that i have looked at all say not to use car antifreeze. I don't know why when theis has the same ingrediants.

My geo-thermal heat pump also uses antifreeze, but the hardy wood furnaces I've seen so far do not use antifreeze. They are set up with a pressure valve that automatically adds more water to the system as needed.

I kind of have it narrowed down between a central boiler or a taylor
Just wanted to know from someone who I would feel I could trust more than the websites that tell all good.

Kevin, I've seen a couple different discussions on YTMAG.com about them. I don't think the search is working on that website, but go to the general and post an O.T. asking about them.
