Real cool, there's got to be one of those sitting in a barn somewhere out there.

There is a fellow in south central Ohio who took a Wheel Horse garden tractor and made a screw-drive modification to it. I have some pictures of it somewhere. Now, if I only knew where to look....

Amazing. 8) 8) It looks like they were invented in the late 20's. I wonder what was the cost then?

Thanks Corky, it has been a while but I always enjoyed this clip.

Henry Ford designed and built a lot of contraptions? and used them or tried them out on his farm in Macon Michigan (not far from me).

My Grandfather along with many of the older people from around here shared many stories of what would go on at the Macon Farm ( Henry Ford was a farmer at heart). The people that lived around there got used to the strange things that went up and down the road out there.

I would not be surprised that the footage was shot out at the village of Macon and at the farm.

I believe that the depression stopped many of these projects from going forward as people simply did not have any money. Henry Ford gathered a great collection of artifacts by other people (Thomas Edison is one) at Greenfield Village but really never saved or collected many of his own inventions. He did however like movies and many of his inventions are saved that way.

Thanks for sharing, It would sure come in handy today in many parts of the country.

Mark

BTW, A trip to Greenfield Village, The Henry Ford Museum and the Ford Rouge Plant are very worthwhile to visit, but plan a day for each as there is way to much to see.
