starting approximately Jan 1, I-64/US40 will be closed for nearly a year for a major rebuild. This is a major east/west artery, and will affect other routes such as I-70 (route to Red Power) due to the increased traffic.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

 Just a little f/u info on the St. Louis traffic situation. We just returned from visiting family and friends there for a few days.

On January 2, 2008 the five mile section from Brentwood Blvd west to I-270 will be closed for a year.

On January 2, 2009 the section from Brentwood Blvd east to Kingshighway will be closed for a year.

If one sticks to 270/255 to get around St. Louis at non-rush hour times you may be OK. You really have no choice.

yeah that's gonna be hectic

may be the understatement of the year. :)

To tractorchick and the others who have no choice but to put up with the traffic jams - stay cool and don't loose your patience. I know that is easier said than done.

That will be a mess. I've driven through there a few times in the past I thought it may as well have been closed. Glad I don't do it anymore. Grump
