There was this truck driving student, and he was to take his test to get his CLD.
He went into class and the instructor told him that he was not going to give a
written test, but rather an oral exam. He stated to the student that he was going
to give him a situation and the student had to tell the instructor how he would handle it.
The instructor said, "Here's your situation. You're starting to go down a steep
mountain grade, you're doing 60 mph when you start down the hill. About halfway
down you blow an air line and you have no brakes. You look down to the bottom
of the hill and there is a narrow bridge at the bottom. But you see a concrete
truck in the middle of the bridge pouring concrete. Now tell me what you're
going to do".
The student thought about it for a while and then he looked at the instructor
and stated, "I'm going to reach back in the sleeper and wake up O'l Jake".
The instructor looked at the student and puzzled over his answer for a moment.
Then the instructor asked the student, "Why are you going to wake up Jake.
What's he going to do".
The student replied, "I don't know what he is going to do, but he aint never
seen a wreck like we're fixin' to have".
