Infested cub... IMAGE-HEAVY THREAD---BEWARE DIAL-UP

Postby Camo Cub » Sat Apr 07, 2007 10:25 pm

Well, we walked into the shop today...

Image

...and walked up to "Flamey", my dad's red, painted up tractor. But what's that bit of white strands, there, to the muffler?...

Image

...Curiously, "Flamey" had a web, with many small bead-shaped objects on it. going for a closer look, i latched my extreme-close-up lens to my digital camera, and...

Image

...To our horror, "Flamey" had been infested by a whole nest of tiny spiders, each under a millimeter long! it was something to behold...

...but it was a good time to take some photos!...

Camo,

Great shots. What camera and lens did you use?

It wouldn't hurt to put some in a jar (DEAD) to have someone to ID the spiders.

If you watched Ralph's baby spider elimination procedure, you won't even find a leg hair left. All in about 30 seconds

In about 2 month's when that hiding, quarter size one, crawls out of that torque tube hole and bites Ralph, we'll be able to identify it better :D

I second that, absolutely amazing pictures. Maybe you should give a workshop on digital photography at all the Cubfests.

Camo,

To answer your question, "Are you into photography?" Yes, I guess that would be the answer. I just got semi-serious about it 5 or 6 years ago. I've got more equipment that I know what to do with, but I'm learning. Sorta like my tools and equipment in the garage. I operate on the philosophy that "there is no tool that you do not need."

Have a good one and keep those pics coming. You do a great job.
