My favorite season of the year...

Postby Hengy » Fri Apr 06, 2007 10:00 am

I know that this may be on the "edge" of the rules of this forum, but I had to share. I understand if it must be locked, but I hope that it is not too controversial!

This is my absolute favorite season of the year...even more so than Christmas. This is the season of our Victory!!!

I am a Catholic, but I also direct the music at a Lutheran church here in La Crosse. For me, the journey of this week...from the triumphant entry to Jerusalem, through the Last Supper, to the gruesome events of Good Friday (today) and the absolute TRIUMPH of Easter Sunday... is the most uplifting time of the year. To know that our sin is forgiven and we are redeemed by the Redeemer is absolutely the best feeling in the world.

I hope that those of you who share this common belief will have the same journey this weekend. From the sadness of Good Friday to the unbridled JOY of Sunday...how wonderful!!

Happy EASTER everyone...

Mike:

You will get no argument from me on your posting here.. I am also a Catholic but not in line with the Church of Rome.

Lutherans are only known as Lutheran's in North America.. US and Canada. Throught the rest of the world they are known as Evangelical Catholics, or as in Germany - Evangalische Katolisches...I happen to be part of the LCMS/LCC or the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod/Lutheran Church Canada. We also long for the reunification of the entire Catholicity of the World.

I applaud your vocation as the director of music at your local Lutheran Church, and I thank the Lord for bringing you to that congregation and providing them with a wonderful gift - the gift of musical praise and adoration through ancient hymns and doxologies.

May the Peace (+) of the Lord Our Saviour Jesus Christ be with you and yours and all of God's Children, during this most holy of celebrations where Jesus Christ fulfilled all of the prophesies of the Old Testament and through his Suffering and Death on the Cross has guaranteed for each of us who believe on Him, our eternal life and Salvation.

AMEN!

Easter is why I love Spring. It is a time to pause and reflect, death and rebirth and what my life is like. Just like it is doing outside.

No other word describes Easter better than .... JESUS
I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.
