It's Maple Syrup Season again!

Postby canamscott » Fri Feb 23, 2007 1:42 pm

We are finishing up tapping today. We put out 500 buckets. That makes a normal production for us around 100 gallons. The weather is still not favorable for a big sap run and might not be for a few days yet. Normally we would have tapped last week, the day the snowstorm hit. With the warm December and most of January, and the really cold early February, folks have been asking what kind of sugar season it might be. I answer the same every year; We never make a prediction until April, and we are never wrong.

Scott,
The syrup I got from you last year was Great :D If this season is as good you'll do great! I made some super pecan pies with it, everyone loved them.

I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.
