Calling Cards for Military Personnel

The Methodist Church to which I belong received a request to provide about 450 calling cards to allow service men and women in Iraq to call home during the Christmas season. The cards were $5.00 each and enough money was raised within 24 hours to cover the cost. A decision was made to do the same for service personnel in Afghanistan and hopefully enough money has been contributed to cover that cost. Although the cost of a calling card is small, each one will bring immense joy to a service man or woman and to their family. I wanted to bring this to your attention with the hope that forum members would involve their church or civic group in a similar endeavor. This might be the most appreciated Christmas present which you will give this year. Dan
