I was in Scottsdale, Az on July 25 waiting out the day before our flight left that evening. It was 118 ! I won't go to Az in July again if I can help it. Flagstaff was great, the Grand Canyon, Presscott, Jerome..... nice time.

When I was outside yesterday I kept hearing a strange whistling noise. after I listened awhile I finally realized it was the trees whistling for the neighbor's dog because it was so hot and dry.

Dry, dry, dry.

I think it's going to take a whole gaggle or herd or 2 or 3 packs of dogs to take care of the water situation. I dug up and potted some gooseberry plants yesterday. There is no moisture in the top 12 inches of soil.

Neighbors have taken cattle off the pasture because there is no potable (for cattle) water in the pond.
