White Goat

Postby Barrie » Sun Jun 01, 2003 7:45 pm

These two traveling salesman were driving along a
country road and were tired so decided to turn off
into a field and stretch their legs a bit. As they
were doing this they came upon a hole in the ground
that looked quite deep. One threw a rock down and
listened to hear it hit. No sound came back so he
heaved a heavier stone into the hole. Same thing, no
sound returned. The other salesman spotted an old
railway tie laying along the fence line so he
dragged it over and threw it into the hole. They
were both standing there listening when a white goat
came along and jumped into the hole. All disappeared
with no sound coming back. They sat down beside the
hole trying to figure all this out when an old
farmer came along. He said, how are you doing there
boys. They said fine and proceeded to tell him the
story about the white goat that came along and
jumped into the hole. The farmer says you must be
mistaken boys, must have been a big old white
rabbit. No the salesman said , I may be from the
city but I know a white goat when I sees one. Well
the farmer says, in this case I guess you made a
mistake cause the only white goat for 50 miles
around these parts is mine and I keep him tied up to
that old railway tie over there !!

That story reminded me of "Mels-Hole" that was a topic on the Art Bell radio program a few years back. A Guy named Mel in WA.State had a hole on his property that was a bottomless pit. The Government found out about it and forced him to sell it to them and it is now a fenced in parcel of Gov. land.
Then came Bronson

That's a good un!!! Too bad what they call "comedy" today is full of filthy words and garbage....I miss Red Skelton.......God rest his soul.
I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
now she lives happily right here in my shed.

I still think Clem Kadiddlehopper would have made a great politician!

Comedy like that doesn't exist anymore. Too Rude, Too Obscene, Too Droll!

oh well, that is progress. Maybe that is another reason there are guys like us out there that don't want to lose what made our youth great!
