Gifts from A Stranger

Postby Barnyard » Sun Jun 25, 2023 8:23 pm

About a week ago there was a knock on our front door. A fellow introduced himself and said his neighbor was cleaning out his garage and gave him a couple of books. The man said he wasn't from our area but was driving by and saw my tractors so he thought I might like to have them and gave them to me. I have never read Roger Welsch, but I hear he had some humorous anecdotes. I guess I have something to help pass my idle time.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

No, no, don't read any of his unpatriotic books. Roger talks about and rebuilds Allis Chalmers tractors.
I have an excuse. CRS.

He's a well published Nebraska boy, passed away about a year ago. In addition to a CBS feature, he did a series that plays occasionally on RFD TV called Postcards From Nebraska. A fun and informative show about rural life and small towns in Nebraska. As others have said, you will enjoy his humorous way of looking at things.
Thoughtful of you neighbor to think of you,
David
