March 2023 Blizzard

Just for fun. 135 years ago, March 12-14, 1888 was the MOAB (mother of all blizzards) here in New England. Official snowfall in CT was 50" but with hurricane force winds, there were drifts of 40-50 feet.

Haven't seen anyone post on the blizzard we had earlier this week.
As they say in real estate, location-location-location.
The hills of northwestern CT received upwards of 18-24" of heavy wet snow while valley towns in the same region only received 4-6".
Here in Stafford Springs, we ended up with about 5-6" of heavy wet snow on the lawn areas and 2-3" on the paved driveway. Had a ton of rain Monday night through Tuesday afternoon. Snow accumulation was from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning.
Up in western, MA they got hammered with 30-36" of heavy wet snow in the hilltowns. They're still digging out and utility companies are still in the process of restoring power.

Nothing here on the shoreline but rain. We didn't get the huge winds ....just steady low 20's mph
