WALLS are done, finally

Postby John(videodoc) » Sun Dec 18, 2005 11:44 am

Well after a month of weekends, walls are insulated, drywalled, sanded and painted, trimmed, ceiling is done as well, excluding the ceilings fans that need to go up (ran outta money). got the peg board framework done and pegboard mounted, and trimmed out as well this weekend, even a little creative with some scraps and made boxes with "hats" over the windows to conceal blinds ifn i put some up.

Next project, i have to build 5 custom benches, 2 8 ft benches each side of radial arm saw. an 8 ft bench about 6 ft in front of table saw, and 8 ft bench directly behind table saw (to catch sheets of plywood) and an 8 ft bench south of table saw to hold bench top equipment. looks like my christmas "break" will be packed with work. PS. wife is doing great, getting around fairly good, no smokes x6 days, not too crouchy, course step mom still here, we'll see when see leaves friday. If i havent said it yet. Merry Christmas to all! John PPS Let me know what you think.

That is a fine looking shop. Great job!
I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Did you use standard wallboard? What thickness? Thanks.

drywall is 1/2", the peg board is 1/4" not the normal 1/8 lighter stuff. trim boards are 1x3 slat boards (cheaper than normal trim)
