This is the clearance I have between my belt and the bolt... Hope this helps

They sent me a flanged bolt with my bracket which has a little thicker head than the bolt you used. I am going to try a regular bolt and maybe that will keep the belt from hitting it.

That governor still has the OEM retaining wire through the bolts. Ya don't see that every day.

You could grind a bit off of the head for more clearance

Or you could countersink the bracket and use a flathead machine bolt.

Or you could file the mounting hole square and use a carriage bolt.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Or you could put in a thread insert and screw in a slightly shorter bolt from the other end.

Looks like his regular machine bolt approach is the simplest way and probably gives enough clearance.
