I seen a few Cubs go across the blocks at Mecum (watching RFD-TV), but most prices were around $2000-$2500 for the nice looking ones.

If that top one is really a 1949, it has the wrong grille. Sure looks nice, but a lot of money for something that isn't absolutely perfect in every detail.

And is that an oil breather cap on the air intake?

Hah! Good catch, Jim. And the tie rods are over/under cris-crossed. Remind me, when was that change made?

EDIT: Looks like the tie rod setup is off of a Lo-Boy. One has to wonder if that one is a Frankentractor wearing shiny red lipstick. I hope the buyer is happy with their purchase!

I missed that. It has the crossed style tie rods but not crossed.

They were on Lo-Boy 4802 and up.

That’s an example of of rich people who don’t know anything more about the tractor than it’s cute and would be a nice addition to their country home. These same people pay 100G for a classic car don’t think twice about dropping 4G for a cute curio.
Might want to hold onto what we have.
I’ve got an early Dodge Charger that was bought cheap and restored cheap when parts were plentiful. Bought that back in January of ‘78.
Parts if you can find them aren’t in any kinda shape you’d want and cost a mint. Now the cars value is such if I didn’t already own it I probably couldn’t buy it now.
10 Years back I predicted that Cub parts and prices would follow that route. I’ve been hunting down parts for a SA and it’s obvious some parts availability is drying up and what’s left has become expensive. These old tractors are going to follow the route as collectibles like classic cars have.
But hey, guys like Barnyard will have one one heck of a rusty 401K. ;)

Not sure how easy it would be to drive the 184 without a steering wheel

You don’t get that option when you pay base price of only $4G. :)
