Santa Came Early - Need Help Accessorizing and Organizing

Postby AL Farmall Boy » Sun Dec 23, 2018 4:59 pm

Merry Christmas to all here! I got a new Weather Guard tool box for Christmas - the big one! So excited about it as I have needed had one. I’m waiting to secure it down because I want to accessorize it, make upgrade/modifications, and organize it before I just dump everything in it. Looking forward to see what all you guys come up with and can suggest!!

Anybody have any good ideas on how to make the box a little nicer, add some useful features, or some good organization ideas???

So far I’ve thought of adding some type of non skid liner or carpet to the inside, adding lights to inside, maybe adding a short extension cord through the electrical grommet for battery chargers or something else, maybe adding a custom panel for the inside of the lid with the IH logo or something else just to make it look nice. I want to keep it as clean as possible in there so if we travel we can also throw one of my wife’s bags in there. I just know that once I throw tools in there I’ll never take them out to fix the box up, so I want to do it now.

How about a new tool box (metal, plastic, or canvas) to rest on a piece of glued down carpet to keep it from sliding around. Find something like tie down straps that will fit in the two shallow end compartments. Once you have everything in place, you'll tend to put it back in the same place. What do you usually carry in your truck that you'll want to put back there now? Where do you keep that stuff now?

I keep it all in my tool shed now since I haven’t had a truck toolbox in 4 years. I usually keep a Cub and a Super A hand crank (to check for seized engines) , a set of end wrenches metric and SAE, small bottle jack, jumper cables, 4-way, 2lb hammer, ball peen hammer, would like to keep some sockets and ratchets, pliers, and screw drivers too. I plan to to keep a 20v battery drill and impact driver in there and of course a battery powered automotive style impact gun for tire changes and other repairs in the field.
