Lawn Tractor Road Rage

An article in today’s newspaper caught my attention. A man in Maryland was driving a lawn tractor on a road, when he allegedly fought with another man after cutting him off. It gets worse………the man driving the lawn tractor was intoxicated and had a 3 year old girl on his lap. Witnesses alerted the police and they caught up with the man while he was still driving the tractor. Police observed the man swerving into the opposite lane of on-coming traffic. The officers activated the lights on their cruiser, but the man would not stop. The man continued down the road, finally pulling off onto the lawn of a property and continuing on. The officers gave chase on foot and when they caught up noticed a strong odor of alcohol and slurred speech from the man. The officers were on both sides of the tractor trying to get the man to stop with verbal commands as the child was crying. One officer pulled back the throttle of the lawn tractor to slow it down, but the driver pushed it back. Finally, they were able to turn off the ignition. Needless to say, the man was arrested and charged with six counts. He asked the officers: “What did I do wrong”?
