Re: What happened at work today.
This didn't happen at work today but after work yesterday. We went to the beach for a few days last week/weekend to stay with my aunt and while we were gone one of our 2 goats died. I had to call my dad Friday morning and get him to take care of it since we were gone, luckily it was Friday not Saturday cause he left for Portland Saturday. Anyways a friend said his sister had 2 baby goats she wanted to get rid of but it would be about a month before they are ready because they are so small. She stopped by and talked to my wife yesterday and my wife ask me to stop and look at them on the way home. I stopped and they have 14 goats in a spot way to small for 3 goats. She said put your name on however many you want they are free. I told her we would take the 2 small ones when they are ready and this one I thought was a nanny. It was born this year so I'm guessing maybe 6 months old. Went home and told my wife, she said I only wanted 1, lol. I love goats and the more color the better. She said why don't you take Cole (our 6 year old son) and get the one so the one we have won't be lonely. I dug the dog box I used for deer hunting years ago and goat hauling out and off Cole and I went. I had no idea the conversations that would ensue because of this little adventure 3 miles from home. We got there and her husband caught him and brought him to the truck and they said we better check him, I said him? They said yeah we banded him but not sure we got both and sure enough he still had one. He said let me get the bander, he brought it out and after the third attempt of him trying and saying "I'm not sure how Doc does this" I said let me try, I've banded a number of things that I'm not going to mention here. Well I got the band on and we left, Cole said "dad, why did you do that to him?" I said so he can't have babies, there were several other things said but what got me was he got quiet for a minute and said "dad, I hope you never have to do that to me", I said just be good and I won't

The man I got the 140 from bought this gas cap at a sale and ask me to get it powdercoated for him. It’s one that has the needle in it, I’ll try to get him to send me some pictures when he reassembles it.

Re: What happened at work today.
Hauled the 4630 over to the farm with the bush hog today to get that started. It takes me 2 days if I don’t have any breakdowns and since I’m off Monday I figured I’d start today and get done Monday. Got 65-70% done today and started seeing fluid spewing every time the tire went around, I was a pretty good ways from the truck so switched from 4th gear to 6th and headed that way to get it on the trailer before loosing 100 gallons of fluid. I don’t know how much I lost but saved some. I’m not sure if I poked a stick in it or a small stump but these rear tires are getting pretty tired and this hole is rather large. They are original 1993 tires and have 1,088 hours on them so they have plenty of tread but plenty of weather cracks and easy for the thorns to go in so I’m gonna make some calls Tuesday and see how much 2 new ones are. I’ve had this tractor 2 years and only put 60 hours on it and was hoping to get through this bush hogging and get new tires next year. This is the third time of having a flat rear from over at the farm and one front. The thorns got me the last 2 times. I called the mans brother who I bought the tractor from and went to their place and got him to use their 3930 with loader to take the bush hog off for me so I wouldn’t have the extra weight when I unload it with a flat and so it won’t be in the way of whoever fixes it for me. I don’t mind changing tractor tires but have no way of dealing with and saving the fluid or reinstalling it.
What I sprayed with remedy this spring looked great, I could definitely tell what I missed and where I ran out of juice.

I don't know what to say,Shane. However, Those good tire treads are sadly lost. If the tires/wheels are jacked up for awhile, put some pressure into them, returning them to round. I know that I'm late about this but things change. I've been hearing about expanding foams. Don't know how they react with fluids. They may push it out. These expanding foams don't need much oxygen but I wonder how resilant they are. Pounded into dust and more mess or something else?

Working somewhat backward here; Thanks for your posts before! Ah, goats. Certain goats will eat everything except you. I don't need tell you that they will eat the trim off your car. Some become very fond and protective in ways.

It's amazing how many of us with these cubs have similar interests. Way back, when I met George Willer at a Luckey Fall festival which led to me joining the farmallcub site, I needed to come up with a name for myself. I chose billyandmillie because I had two pet goats named billy(black) and millie(white).
When I told my dad I've been misplacing things and doing stupid stuff----His reply---"It only gets better"

I wouldn’t put any kind of foam in a rear tractor tire. How would you change them next time? Wouldn’t get the weight like you do from fluid either. These tires are 25 years old, I can’t take to many more times at $100-$125 each time to get one repaired.

I enjoy watching goats, when I still lived at home with my parents I fenced in 5 acres near their lake and had 27 at one time. It was half wooded and half grass. I kept about 12 all the time and when they had kids that was fun watching them play and grow. We’re getting 2 more little ones in a couple weeks, our kids will love that, especially Sadie, she’ll be 3 next month and has a deep love for any kind of animal already.

Good point Shane. Probably worse than that Goop stuff, mess. I was just thinking about a solution. Mine are filled with some antifreeze, rims aren't rotting, yet.

Re: What happened at work today.
Started cutting the ejector disc out for the Lely from a piece of 1/4” stainless with the plasma cutter and felt some heat and looked down and my pants were burning. Think this is a first for me, I’ve burned many shirts and coats but never pants

Re: What happened at work today.
Got the ejector disc done out of 1/4” thick stainless. Had to use the old 2 axis milling machine, it only has 14” of travel on Y so I had to do half the disc then turn it around and use the coaxial indicator to get it centered up. The disc is 22 1/2”. Used 2 drill bits against the table to get it square so I could finish it.

Logged in to especially congrats for that work. I thought the original hub was to be grafted onto the new disc. Guess I missed that it is stainless.
Neat work. More to it than I knew.
