Freezer Weight
My uncle has an International freezer that he got over fifty years ago from my other uncle's IH dealership. He is now in a nursing home and the family asked if I wanted it. It still works. I am not sure what size it is as yet, but does anybody have an idea of an average weight of one of these monsters?

Re: Freezer Weight
You and a friend, 2 wheeled dolly could handle it. Don't know the weight, but some of the old freezers could weight 150 to 200 lbs.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Seems like the refrigerator I got from Bill Hudson weighed about that much (of course Cub front weights feel like they weigh more now days ). I figured a freezer to be a lot more. I have to wait until my cousin can go over to let me take a look at it.

Re: Freezer Weight
A word of warning, for a collector item it is nice, but the difference in operating cost of it versus a purchasing a new one the same size will balance out in about 2 1/2 to 3 years.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Not concerned about operation cost. I’ll just sell a Cub every year. That should cover a few years.

It has been many years since I have seen it, but I believe it is chest.

You may have trouble sleeping at night because of the noise coming from your spinning electrical meter.

One little known fact about global warming is that gravity seems to be increasing as a result.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

Re: Freezer Weight
My original post does say it works, however I did not say I would be using it (I have a new upright in my basement that is in use). My real question is, about how much would it way. Since it was sold by the family business (in this case a wedding gift from one brother to another) and used by my uncle, I would just like to keep it in the family.

Thanks David, we will probably get it moved close to his garage door and pick it up with his backhoe. I will let you know if we need help.
