Found my first dropWhile I was doing some spring cleaning around the pole barn getting rid of downed branches and such, just about ready to call it a night, I look down and what do I see stinking out of some brush at the woodline? It took a minute to realise what it was. I'll have to see if I can find the other half tomorrow.

Re: Found my first dropNice find, i've never found a shed, that wasn't so old the varmits chewed it to a nub.
I've heard of dogs that are trained to find sheds. Must be nice. "A nation which does not remember what it was yesterday does not know where it is today." --Robert E. Lee

Re: Found my first dropNice shed. I've found a few but never both. I did find one that a guy found the mate (matched up really well) but it was almost a mile from where I found mine.

Re: Found my first dropNice . I found a few drops this spring, but not a match this year. And nothing much to be worth reporting. I found this drop two years ago. The halves were about 35 yards apart. Just dumb luck that I found the second one the next day. The pics arent great, but in one of them you can see some AA batteries to get an idea of the scale. they're a good 3 or 3.5 inches in circumference at the base. But I never did measure them..... They'd be absolutely beautful, but one tine is broken

Re: Found my first dropAndrew, Nice rack. I didn't think SC had horns that big, but I never hunted anywhere but the eastern part of the state.

Re: Found my first drop
We were hunting in northern Michigan one year between Christmas and New Year. My hunting buddy had a little fork horn walk up in front of him. At one point my buddy said that the deer shook like a dog when it's wet and both antlers dropped right there. He brought them back to camp and showed me. How cool would that be to see??!! 1929 Farmall Regular

Re: Found my first dropGrumpy - you mean to say you never hunted anywhere but the eastern part of PA ? or SC ? SC isn't known for big bucks, but there's been a few. A friend of ours shot what is likely to be in the top records for typical racks. I guess she shot it too late this year to be recorded in the '09 records as i didnt see her name. I actually think this rack came from a buck I've missed the past two seasons, but I couldn't be sure.
