Re: Bow Seasonyogie,i love bow hunting, i haven't tried to draw my bow yet with the surgically reconstructed elbow yet. i guess i should see if it can still do 72lbs. this is the first year here in pa that crossbows are legal for all hunters not just those with physical limitations. makes sense to me.

Re: Bow Season72 lbs., I couldn't pull that on a good day Michael.
Cross bows are by handicap permit only here in WV. Seems I drop back on poundage a little more every year, I don't like shoot over 25/30 yards anyway so I'm set between 55 and 60 somewhere. As flat and as fast as these newer bows shoot, that's a plenty for me... Good luck this season, I love the smell of everything when it's Fall in the woods. We have so many cedar trees here that I usually use that for my cover sent, grab a handful and rubb it on everything as I go in... Be sure to post us some pictures if you run across anything... ![]() Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. Re: Bow SeasonTook my first nice buck of the season yesterday afternoon, after tracking it down I rolled it over to find three 22 cal holes in the front sholder. It was infected pretty bad so I cut the rack off and left it lay.
Went back after that and pulled my pop up blind out, someone has been hunting it while I'm at work and leaving me clues that they have been there, like leaving the doors open and such. 800 acres of posted land but they know when you have to work and they DON'T. My brother met me at dark after hunting to help remove my stuff from the woods and when he returned to the family farm this morning someone hit during the night and stole every stand we had out on the farm. Makes you want to just give up.... ![]() Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. Ben Franklin

Re: Bow SeasonAs much as this state leaves something to desire, harassing a hunter or just going on posted land and stealing stands would get some action. Of course there are all kinds of good old fasioned justice that could be handed out. I would set something up, they will be back.

Re: Bow SeasonThis is what makes us hunt up in central VT instead of my home state its the other bad hunters that i want to get away from.
Most of the hunters were i live get a license to go shooting more than hunt. Some don't even wear orange too. There harder to see comming thru the thick pines but you know some shoot at sounds too. I just don't feel safe hunting at home in the state forest. In VT its just us and my neighbors who are in the national forest near my land. Since i don't post no hunting signs on my land in VT its open for other hunters to hunt it too but i get to hunt for free on my land no license is needed for me. So far its been a good thing not posting my land. Some out of staters who own land in VT post it right away no hunting. I took one of my buddy's hunting and he was very surprsied you could buy a bear and deer hunting license in a store in town right away with no hassle or lottery system in Vt. I got one lottery deer license out of putting in for it for many years. The system sucks in CT thats why they hire people to shoot the over populated deer at night to thin the herds. They just need to open up the hunting season more to the hunters. I'll tell ya someone stealing a tree stand doesn't want to get caught by the good ole boys i hunt with. They will get a woopin the'll never forget. I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
Re: Bow Seasongun season is in for us in ga aint seen but one doe yet at my stand but saw a nice 8 pter and a 4 ptr on the road bout 150 yards from my stand. stealing down here will get you in a serious ACCIDENT.

Re: Bow SeasonIm awful sorry, but ida be one mean florida boy if someone went stealing my stuff. I can't handle that at all. You'd have to be one kind ofa scumbag to go take somebody's paradise away from them. Down here in the deep south, that's about like calling someone a liar in the western days, you just didn't do it. Well, I wish good luck to everyone, have fun.

Re: Bow SeasonBrother rehung the deer stands, just didn't use anything worth carrying out this time. He's done well, nice 10 pt. Monday evening and another 6 pt. tonight.
I'll hit them hard soon as the rut starts, I don't get excited until the first of November. ![]() Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. Ben Franklin
