Lo-Boy 185 Engine problems

I have a Cub Lo-Boy 185. It seems to be only working on two cylinders. It has low power and low pressure? Should I put head gasket repair in it? There is a guy not far from me that has a rebuilt engine for it but he does an engine swap and I'm not sure if I want to do that. Please let me know what you guys think. Thank you Pete

I would suggest finding out for sure what the problems actually are before making and decision. Wet and dry compression checks, make sure the plugs/wires/etc are all in good condition and installed in the correct positions. A cub engine will run on two cylinders (not very well).

You say "low pressure" have you done a compression test? Numbers? First thing you need to do is get new spark plugs. I will suggest champion D21 plugs. Never a good thing to troubleshoot engine probs with old plugs.

Also check for valve function. Might be a couple of stuck valves.
