1975 lo boy 185 plow question

Postby Brianleibo » Sun May 08, 2016 9:51 am

Hello my question is will a cub farmall plow blade and frame attach to the lo boy 185 brackets. My 185 came with the main plow attachments already on it but I'm missing the blade and main attachment and I saw a picture of a farmall plow blade with frame that looks to be the exact match or close. Will it fit? Thanks Brian

The answer is yes, the plow blade, and subframe, will bolt up if you have the existing mounting brackets on the tractor. There are two small flat-iron pieces of linkage that you will need to come up with, but I think they would be easy to make. The plow blade, angling mechanism, and subframe back to the lift pivot point are all the same as a standard Cub blade.

In the photo below, you can see them just in front of the front tires, vertical pieces about 6-inches long, that go from the triangle shaped pivot points of the lifting arms on the tractor, down to the plow subframe. I believe they have a bit of an offset in them, to bring them out wide enough to match up with the lifting arms on the tractor.

The attaching points on the subframe for the vertical pieces is specific to the numbered Lo-Boys. If you use the frame from a Farmall, you will have to add these mounting points. It probably isn't a big deal to do the mofification, but don't expect a direct bolt-on.
