My 154 has had some creative welding done and the steering box doesn't fit right. Trying to figure out what it's supposed to look like, from the manuals I know I'm missing a bracket that goes to the left side of the frame, but apparently there is supposed to be another support from the right side welded to the frame that I can't fine much info on.
Here's what mine looks like, if anyone could post a picture of what it should look like maybe I can figure out a solution.

Re: 154 steering box supports
Hmm, well I guess nobody has their steering box mounted correctly. Got some parts from Hamilton Bobs, will see if they bolt up.

Re: 154 steering box supports
In my case it would be inconvenient and time consuming to take photos of the steering sector. I would have to dismount the mower deck, crawl under the tractor to take photos, then remount the mower deck. Being elderly, I have to have my son help remove and install the mower decks.Salty wrote:Hmm, well I guess nobody has their steering box mounted correctly.
I have an excuse. CRS.
