Electric PTO belts
Have 184 LoBoy. Broke belts on PTO trying to determine if total teardown of clutch is required to install new belts

Just have to remove the driveshaft (and the bolts for the electric clutch)

Make sure you only remove one bolt at a time on the electric clutch. Also, either count the # of exposed threads on the bolt or measure the plates so you can put it back at the same spacing or tension.
While the driveshaft is out, this is a good time to inpect the driveshaft splines and check out the throwout bearing assembly.
It is recommended in the manual to use matched belts (I would use OEM). HamiltonBobsCubs had a tip on his website to slip a second set of belts over the driveshaft and zip tie them out of the way so the next time you need to change the belts, the old ones can just be cut off and the driveshaft will not have to be pulled.

I second the use of OEM belts! These are not ordinary V-belts, they appear to be a much tougher material and they come in the necessary matched set. I'm sure Hamilton Bob has them.

get the belts from the dealer, oem only, don't use HB belts if not oem
