Cub 154 carb leaking

Postby dgerwig » Mon Jun 30, 2014 7:45 am

Recently my 154 IH carb has started to drip from the Drip Hole filler at the bottom of the fuel bowl. So far I haven't found replacement parts. Is there a work-around/mod that I can do to stop the drip/leak?

Thanks in advance

David

Do you have an IH or Zenith carb? Most likely a little debris is keeping the needle valve from completely seating. It may just need a cleaning and not a rebuild if it has been running okay otherwise.

Try Bob's suggestion first, you may not need any parts or a kit.

The carburetor is probably a Zenith. Quality kits are available from numerous sources such as the advertisers on this board. Case/IH and New Holland dealerships will have the carburetor kit.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Just remove it and clean it as said above. Make sure the float isn't too high so it's not shutting off the gas flow.

If you need parts which I doubt it, go to http://www.mcdonaldcarb.com

He has parts for all tractors. He has zenith & IH parts
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Bob was right - it was the needle valve - which explains why it so suddenly appeared. Thanks for the tips!
